Reviews & Testimonials

Diamond in the rough! My family went down here last summer and it couldn’t have been nicer. It is not located that close to beach, but they do have shuttle drivers that take you there within 10 minutes. Rooms were very nice (modernized) and the people were great. Golf courses at Barefoot were amazing, take your pick! I personally loved the waterway outside my balcony as well as the huge pool! Located right by a ton of shopping and prime location. Great place to stay guys, were going back here in 2 months once again. No complaints from us, awesome.

Course

The Omni Bedford Springs Resort in Pennsylvania, is proud to be home of one of the country’s first golf courses.  The restored, historic course offers an experience of the highest caliber to rival the most private of clubs.  Overlooking breathtaking views of the Allegheny Mountains and Cumberland Valley, this remarkable course spans the work of three golf architectural masters—Spencer Oldham, A.W. Tillinghast, and Donald Ross.  Bedford Springs Old Course has undergone a total renovation overseen by noted classic golf course restoration architect Ron Forse, restoring it to its original course layout.  A round of golf on these historically significant tees is a must-play for golf enthusiasts of all levels.

Reviews & Testimonials

Quietly elegant, graciously inviting…From the classic colors to the lack of superfluous ornamentation to the beautiful setting, this is the meaning of a “resort.” The food was good, the spa luxurious and the service unparalleled. We weren’t five-dollared to death and consider good value for the money. Example: the stone “fire pit” roaring away on a cool Spring evening was populated by folks with “S’mores” kits, featuring all the ingredients and a long-handled cooker. Just lovely.

Reviews & Testimonials

Seaview is located on over 670 wooded acres of pinelands on the New Jersey Shore’s pristine Reed’s Bay – only eight miles from Atlantic City and just 45 minutes from Philadelphia. Offering 297 impeccably redesigned guestrooms and suites, championship golf on two world-renowned courses, fine accommodations, and 27,000 square feet of premier meeting and special event space and much more.

My fiancee & I stayed here for a 2nd time recently & we absolutely love this hotel! It’s located in a very nice area, just far enough from Atlantic City, but also a close enough drive if A.C. is your type of place to be. The grounds are lovely, friendly staff & we enjoyed a restful night’s sleep. We loved the room’s decor, the comfy bed & extra roomy closet. The only complaint we had was the creaky floors as you walk to your room (we were on the 3rd floor both times, a little distance from the elevators), but other than that, we had a fantastic visit! I must admit that after reading that this hotel is pet-friendly which we weren’t aware of, we will probably not stay here again. We’re not pet people & the idea that a pet(s) may have been lying/sleeping/playing on the bed at any time, would be a reason for us not to stay here again.

Stayed there under the former ownership. Still a high level of service under Dolce. Rooms are comfortable, albeit a bit dated. Meals provided for my conference were good. The property is convenient to Atlantic City if you want to stay away from the crowds and are willing to drive. The golf courses are classic old style courses, and the staff is gracious and helpful.

Course

Legendary in his golf achievements and golf course designs alike, Jack Nicklaus constructed a masterpiece set amidst the long leaf pines of Southern Pines. This 18-hole championship layout features classic Jack Nicklaus architecture: wide fairways, lush course conditions and undulating putting surfaces that test your mind and your true golfing ability.

National’s golf course is a magnificent 7,144 yard course and is meticulously designed as it is compelling. An intriguingly well balanced course which, according to Golf Digest, “has come to enhance even the lofty Sandhills image for world-class golf amenities.”

Each hole has been customized to create a great diversity in the way it can be played. Added to this uniqueness are tall pines, grassy swales, groomed waste areas and a natural variety of lakes and stream beds beautifully fashioned to give National its own distinctive look.

Reviews & Testimonials

“The National property is absolutely beautiful. Its rolling hills, magnificent pines and variety of lakes provided us with elements we needed to design a golf course that would be extra special. The idea has been to preserve and build upon the great golfing tradition which is the Sandhills.” – Jack Nicklaus

Mid Pines Golf Club – Pine Needles Golf Resort

Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club

P.O. Box 88

1005 Midland Rd

Southern Pines, NC 28387

Course

In our fast-paced world, we’ve come to value traditions that reach out to touch the past. That’s why Mid Pines is so special and rare among golf clubs. It has 18 holes that are in exactly the same positions with the same numbers as when the course opened in 1921.

That doesn’t mean that the layout of the course has been neglected or overlooked. When the current owners took over the property in the mid-1990s, an effort was made to polish this classic gem: Tees were leveled, a pond was rebuilt and cleaned up. Irrigation and drainage were improved.

Many people have characterized the course as “pure Donald Ross” because of how it fits the land where it was built. It has few forced carries or artificial or contrived holes. Says Lee Pace, writing about the course in Pinehurst magazine: “Mid Pines was never conceived as a daunting task to the finest players competing under championship conditions … Mid Pines was intended simply as a fun course with adequate challenge for members and guests of a private club and resort.”

Even so, this course does play home to many national competitions including the 2002 USGA Senior Women’s Amateur Championship.   You’re going to find hillier terrain on this course than Pine Needles; Mid Pines is also slightly shorter.   Your round at Mid Pines will start with a 380-yard par-4 (350 from the forward tees). From the elevated tee, you’ll be looking out at a broad fairway that is framed by mature longleaf pine trees.

The par-3s are among the most popular holes on this course, and perhaps the most photographed hole on the course, according to Graham Gilmore Director of Golf at both Mid Pines and Pine Needles, is the par-3 No.2. You’ll need an uphill shot from elevated tee boxes to an elevated green that makes for a tough target to hit. There’s a distance of 178 yards from the back tees and 116 from the front.

Reviews & Testimonials

“This is true gem of a golf course!  Donald Ross designed a delightful golf course while the Pine Needles Staff adds Southern Hospitality to your golfing experience”

25 Years and Golf Rally’s The Boy’s

April 15th, 2010

As a tournament director for the FORE! Jack & Jill Golf Marathon Series I run events across the country. The great part of my job is reaching out to golfers and asking them to participate in an event for a great foundation, The Jack & Jill Late Stage Cancer Foundation.

Over the past year my task has been to go to cities and start a new event and gain commitments from players and sponsors. I have a decent network of friends and business contacts across the country and that is always my first step in building an event. Having a few good men on the ground passionate about helping families in which Mom or Dad has late stage cancer is great but I am always looking for more. I spend countless hours networking and introducing myself to golfers all over the place and I love it.

Next month I am doing an event in Northern New Jersey with Brandon Moore the NY JETS right guard and some of his teammates. Since I grew up in NJ you would think it would be a lay up to recruit players but its harder than you would think. I used my typical honey holes to find players than it dawned on me….golf, football and my home state.

So off I went, on a mission to get the old guys together from the 1985 Bridgewater High School East Football team. Its been 25 years and with jobs, family, moves and the withering of time it might be tough but why not try. Out went an email to the boys. Would they respond, would they want to play golf all day for a great cause?

YES!! These guys are the best!! We spent so many years playing football together from Pop Warner all the way through High School and its a bond that transends time. I sent the call out to the old offense and it looks like we have 8 of the 11 guys in for this cause.

I am so looking forward to this event and the giving back to the Foundation. Yeah we the NY JETS but what we also have is 8 guys from 25 years ago huddling up one more time!! Stay tuned for more…..
